Ο Λεωνίδας Παπασάββας
γεννήθηκε στη Λευκωσία το 1947. Ασχολείται με την ζωγραφική από τα παιδικά
του χρόνια. Μαθήτευσε κοντά σε αξιόλογους Κύπριους ζωγράφους όπως το Λευτέρη
Οικονόμου, την Καίτη Στεφανίδου, την Έλλη Μιτζή κ.ά. Με αδιάκοπη δουλεια΄40
χρόνων κατάφερε να φθάσει ε' επίπεδα ζωγραφικής με στοιχεία υψηλής τεχνικής
ποιότητας και ωριμότητας. Τα τελευταία λίγα χρόνια κατόπιν απόφασης της
Κριτικής Επιτροπής του Επιμελητηρίου Καλών Τεχνών Κύπρου (Ε.ΚΑ.ΤΕ.), έργα
του περιλήφθηκαν στις Παγκύπριες Εκθέσεις του 1992 και 1994. Έχει στο
ενεργητικό του 5 ατομικές εκθέσεις, πήρε επίσης μέρος σε πολλές ομαδικές
εκθέσεις. Έργα του βρίσκονται σε πινακοθήκες διαφόρων Δήμων ως επίσης και σε
πολλές ιδιωτικές συλλογές στη Κύπρο και στο εξωτερικό. |

Leonidas Papasavvas
was born in Nicosia in 1947. He is painting from his childhood. He painted
still lifes, portraits and mainly landscapes. Favourite themes include
traditional houses and scenes from the rural life. He trained under the
wellknown Cypriot Painters Lefteris Economou, Keti Stefanidou, Elli Mitzi
and Panayiotis Larkou as well as under the English Painter Michael Westall.
After 40 years of continuous work he succeeded in reaching standards of
painting of high technical quality and maturity. His works became very
popular in Cyprus and a number o them were included in the Pancyprian Art
Exhibitions of the Cyprus Chamber of Good Arts.
The Artist' s work has appeared in 5 solo exhibitions as well as in several
group exhibitions. Notable works of the artist decorate the galleries of a
number of Municipalities as well as of a number of private collections in
Cyprus and abroad. |
