Ο
Dusan
Polakovic
γεννήθηκε στην
Πρατισλάβα το 1950. Σπούδασε από το
1966 - 1970 σε σχολή Μέσης Παιδείας των
Εφαρμοσμένων Τεχνών στην
Πρατισλάβα. Το 1970 - 1972 σπούδασε στην
Ακαδημία “sztuk
poeknych
in
Warsaw”
της Βαρσοβίας στην Πολωνία. Το 1972 -
1976 σπούδασε κι άρχισε να εργάζεται
στην Ακαδημία Καλών Τεχνών και
Σχεδίου στην Πρατισλάβα στο τμήμα
εικονογράφησης και δημιουργίας
βιβλίου. Αφιερώνεται στο ελεύθερο
και σατηρικό σχέδιο.
Είναι
κάτοχος εξαιρετικού τίτλου “Doctor
Humoris
Causa”
από το 1985. Έχει τιμητική μνεία σε
διαγωνισμό «Το πιο όμορφο βιβλίο
για Παιδιά» το 1998. Βραβείο FECO
Βραζιλία 1994. Βραβείο Jean
Effel
Κούβα 1987. Δεύτερο βραβείο στη
Διεθνή Μπιενάλε Σατυρικής και
Γέλιου στα Σκόπια το 1980. Παρουσίασε
το έργο του σε ατομικές και
ομαδικές εκθέσεις στη Γερμανία,
Τσεχία, Πολωνία, Ουγγαρία και
Γαλλία.

Dusan
Polakovic
was born in Bratislava on October 1st in 1950. He
studied at the Secondary School of Applied Arts in Bratislava
(1966 - 1970) and at the Academy od “sztuk poeknych in
Warsaw” – Poland (1970 - 1972). Between 1972 and 1976 he
studied and started to work at the Academy of Fine Arts and
Design in Bratislava, at the department of illustration and book
creation. He then gives himself to illustration, free graphics
and satirical drawing.
He
lives in Bratislava. He has had individual and common
exhibitions in Germany, Czech Republic, Polland, Hungary, France.
He is a holder of an exceptional degree – Doctor Humoris Causa
– since 1985. Has received many prizes and awards and has an
honorable mention in the competition “The most beautiful book
for children” in 1998. Received the FECO award in Brussels in
1994, the prize of Jean Effel in Cuba in 1987 and the 2nd
prize at the International Biennial of Humor and Satire in
Skopje in 1980.
