Paul Camilleri
Born in Malta
1959, had a creative childhood with his father Antoine, two brothers
and two sisters. Back then they lived in Balzan. His father was
his first teacher in art. They worked with different media, metal
stone, fibre glass, stained glass, clay and experimented with poster
colors, made lino prints, carnival floats, stamps and other
commissions. He was introduced to Gabriel Caruana a good friend of
his family and it was in his kiln that Antoine Camilleri baked his
first work. Later on he attended evening classes at Targa Gap,
Upper Secondary school under Esprit Barthet, Diploma in Fine Arts at
the School of Arts Valletta. Had several one man shows, both
locally and abroad. Taught Ceramic Design at the Art and Design
Centre Valleta. Commissions for Airport Chapel, Pembroke Church and
St. Joseph School, Blata il-Bajda. |
