Άλκης Πιερράκος
Γεννήθηκε στη Θεσσαλονίκη το 1920. Σπούδασε ζωγραφική
στη Βασιλεία της Ελβετίας και συνέχισε στο Λονδίνο στο
Slade School of Fine Artς
και στο
Central
School of Arts and Crafts.
To
1954 εγκαταστάθηκε οριστικά στο Παρίσι. Η ζωγραφική του
κινείται στο χώρο του γερμανικού εξπρεσιονισμού, που
τον γνώρισε στη Γερμανία, όπου πήγε με το τέλος των
σπουδών του.
Alkis Pierrakos

Born
in Thessalonica 1920, Alkis
Pierrakos studied painting at the Gewerbeschule
in Basel (1948 -
1950) and the
Slade's
School of London
(1951 -
1953). He had his first solo exhibition at
Cambridge (1954). Other one-man and group shows
followed in Greece and abroad. That same year he
settled in Paris, where he became member of the group "La
Ligne et le Signe".
His work is characterized by the personal lyric style
which he has created in the frame of abstract
expressionism. He lives and works in Paris.
