PHIL BIRD M.A.
Phil
Bird has had a prolific career over many years as
a Painter, Musician, poet and initiator of
multi disciplinary and collaborative Creative Arts
Projects in a wide variety of educational
contexts.
Phil
gained an M.A. in fine Art from Goldsmiths college
London in 1983. His career has included significant
contributions to fine art degree at Oxford Brook
University, and foundation at Berkshire college of
art, he has been visiting painter at many other
colleges , art centers and museums. Phil was course
leader for foundation art at the Henley College Oxon
1991 – 1995. In 2006 after an Artists residency at
Cyprus College of Art, he was appointed course
leader for Foundation stidies. He now lives in
Cyprus, but maintains Art Project and performance
links in UK and elsewhere.
His work has been
reviewed in Arts Monthly, Arts Review, Artists
Newsletter, Visual Studies magazine and Artscribe
International.
The
Artist has shown work in Britain, Germany, USA, and
Cyprus, and has work in a number of collections
including Southern Arts, Reading Museum, Berkshire
education Authority, the Gottlied collection, The
Russel Cotes and other private collections. He has
received two major bursary and several minor awards
from Southern Arts. In June 2008 he was a delegate
in Jerusalem for the British council open space
event "Looking in and facing out". (How can we best
