Ο
Χριστόφορος Ποιητής γεννήθηκε το 1965 στο
Βαρώσι. Λόγω της τουρκικής εισβολής
αναγκάστηκε να ξενιτευθεί μαζί με την
οικογένειά του στο Αμβούργο/ Γερμανίας. Το
1988 του απενεμήθη το Δίπλωμα Ζωγραφικής
από τη Σχολή Καλών Τεχνών Professor
Andre Gerard.
Τρία χρόνια αργότερα ολοκλήρωσε και το
δεύτερο κύκλο σπουδών του και του
απενεμήθη το Δίπλωμα του Communication
Designer από τη Ανώτατη Σχολή Καλών Τεχνών του
Αμβούργου.
Το
2002 επέτρεψε στην Κύπρο.
Ο
ανορθόδοξος τρόπος της ζωγραφικής του
καλλιτέχνη πηγάζει από την αρχαία και
νεώτερη ιστορία της Κύπρου. Τα έντονα
χρώματα συνδυάζονται με το ξύλο και η
επαφή είναι άμεση. Το ξύλο ως γνωστό, έχει
δική του ζωή. Και μετά την ολοκλήρωση του
πίνακα, συνεχίζει να αναπνέει και να ζει.

Christophoros Poetis was born in 1965 in Varosha. After the Turkish invasion he was obliged to go abroad with his family to Hamburg, Germany. In 1988 he was awarded the Diploma in Painting by the School of Arts of Professor Andre Gerard. Three years later he completed his second cycle of studies, and he was awarded the Diploma of Communication Designer by the Highest Technical School of Arts in Hamburg. In the year 2002 he returned to Cyprus. The unorthodox way in the art of painting of Christophoros Poetis has its source in ancient and recent history. The intensive colours are combined with wood, and the contact is immediate. Wood, as known, has its own life and, after completion of the painting, continues to live by itself. |
